Eri silk or Ahmisa silk or peace silk is made from open ended cocoons. Hence when the silkworms hatch they can crawl out of the cocoon, traditional silk made from boiling the cocoon to extract the silk whereas in the open end cocoon method the silk worms are unharmed. Since the silk spun from these cocoons are not one continuous filament the silk tends to be dense and unlike other silks eri silk is heavier. Nonetheless the silk is super soft and durable.

This saree features top green threadwork border and bottom blue threadwork border with floral motifs all over the body in blue, maroon and green threadwork. Pallu and border has beautiful thread embroidered motifs in green, blue and maroon. Color of the saree is yellow. Blouse color is same as saree with traditional threadwork motifs.

This saree does not have the typical shine of a silk saree. It’s thicker than regular mulberry silk and soft and has a cottony look. Saree has all over thread work and no zari.

**Saree pico, falls finished, blouse is cut and sent as a separate item, unstitched. Pretty tassles are attached to the end of the pallu. Silk mark certified and certificate of pure eri silk testing attached.

Wash care - Hand wash with mild soap. Wash with light colors and dry in shade. Mild iron.
